Natalya's Quote Of The Week! (29/11/15)

It's been a while since the last Quote Of The Week! My apologies! You can click here if you want to read the last Quote Of The Week!!

As I have mentioned more than once, I am currently studying at university, and one of the important things about being at university that I have yet to exercise is the importance of timekeeping and routine. I have the habit of doing things that are not important, such as watching something entertaining over working on an assignment. Seriously, I think I must be a master of putting off work until I start to feel the pressure as deadlines get closer and closer. I wrote a post previously about procrastinating that you can read here if you wish.

No matter how much I try to stop procrastinating, it's difficult to programme my mind to change its ways. However, it's not only necessary if I am to achieve good marks for my assignments, but it is absolutely vital if I, or anyone wants to be successful in life. I aim to have a career driven mentality, motivated by success and one of the keys to this is consistency. This is something that I have been lacking, so this is a quote to bare in mind and thus my Quote Of The Week!

Be sure to check out my other Quote's Of The Week on my blog and follow if you enjoy reading!

Can't Get This Out Of My Head! My Catchy Songs Of The Moment! (6)

Its been a while since I've written one of these. I wrote my fifth edition of this series back in late August, which you can check out here! Click on the link if you want to see what my catchy songs of the moment back in August were!

Flash forward to November and I have quite a few number of songs that are currently on my repeat list! Here they are!

Lady Lykez - Chat to Your Man

Single released in 2015

I got a spotify account recently which has been great for me discovering new music that I have not heard before. On the browse page of spotify, the digital music service suggests playlists' of music for you to listen to. This is how I stumbled across a couple of tracks that I can't stop listening to as of this moment and this track is one of them. Chat to your man is a song with a catchy hook and chorus, that features a lady with attitude and a unique style. This is a club banger that is right up my street!

Fetty Wap ft Monty - 679

679 from the album Fetty Wap (Deluxe) (2015)

This is another catchy club banger that pleases the ear buds. When I heard Fetty Wap's first single, Trap Queen, I couldn't tell you how addicted I was to that song. In a bid to find more songs like Fetty's hit single, I stumbled across this track which took me quite a few listens to get into. There's two versions of this song, one featuring Monty and another featuring Remy Boyz (which has its own music video.) The two have subtle differences, but I prefer the version featuring Monty simply because I have listened to it more.

R Kelly ft Jeremih & Lil Wayne - Switch Up

Switch Up from the album The Buffet (2015)

First Cookie and now this. R Kelly seems to be doing well in his comeback and on top of that, one of my favourite artist's Jeremih also features in this track. Bonus.

Fuse ODG - Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)

Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad) From the album T.I.N.A (2014)

This one is older than the rest and I have heard this song before, but when I listened to the song properly through my headphones, this song stuck with me. This is definitely another one of those songs that is easy to dance to. It's uplifting and...well.....catchy!

The Weeknd - The Hills

The Hills from the album Beauty Behind the Madness (2015)

This song has a different vibe to the rest of the songs on this list, which fits in with The Weeknd's sultry style...if that's the right way to describe it. It's the chorus that really makes this song, sung in a higher tone than the verses.

Thanks for reading this edition of 'Can't Get This Out Of My Head! Catchy Songs Of The Moment!' Please check back for the next edition  of this series and be sure to follow!

NPop Quote Of The Week! (14/11/15)

You can read last week's quote of the week right here!! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/11/npop-quote-of-week-061115.html

Sorry for the absence my friends. Juggling assignments with my blog has been difficult and deadlines are looming, but I am back for a new quote of the week!

I lost my way for a while, trying to find out my identity. By this what I mean is that I've been trying to find out what I should be doing with my life. I am very indecisive, often changing my career prospects. It's because of this that I've been kind of moving forward in no particular direction and this has led me to be just a tad depressed. Therefore, it's important to find your purpose and passion and pursue it. Don't live this life without one.

Natalya's Quote Of The Week! (06/11/15)

TGIF! Unless you work on weekends, then I feel for you. It's Friday, which means another 'NPop Quote Of The Week!' Wahoo! You can read last week's quote of the week here!

This is something I would do well to apply to my life. I am a big daydreamer and I often dream of being successful, yet I can easily waste my days doing things that are not necessary. Things that do not help my growth as an individual or climb up the ladder. Sometimes I would much rather do something meaningless like watch television or listen to music than do research for an essay (which is standard to be fair) or exercise. Watching television is not going to help me in the long run, apart from perhaps gaining a little knowledge of the TV show in question. However, doing research for an essay is taking one step closer to completing that assignment. and gaining a degree. Exercise is one step closer to toning my limbs (if I exercise regularly) and having a healthier body.

I have dreams of being an author one day, but for me to chase that dream I would have to take the required steps in that direction, such as reading and writing. This is necessary in order for me to write a good book some day and so I have to pass up on things that are easier such as talking to a friend on the phone, or browsing social media in favour of free writing, or reading the latest teen novel. This is why this quote is very relevant to me, and can be relevant to you as well. "You gotta do what you HAVE to do before you can do what you WANT to do. It's called priorities."

1st World Problems - The Struggles Of Being Lazy

Check out the last 1st World Problems, 'Taking Things for Granted' Here

Being at University with deadlines looming over me, it starts to become more apparent to me just how lazy of a person I am. For one, I have been a bit lazy in updating this blog, which I could argue is because I haven't had the time to update the blog due to all the assignments that have crept up on me. However, the list of things that I've needed to do for at least a week now have been piling up me. The Struggles Of Being Lazy. Here are just a few of them....

Going to Bed Late, Getting Up Late

I tell myself every night that I'm going to bed early. 10, 11, 12 at the latest. However, that's where the devil Internet comes into play. I touched on the subject of the Internet on my blog '1st World Problems - Procrastinating'. It has become a routine for me to watch videos on Youtube to relax and entertain myself before going to bed. The problem is, it becomes more than too easy to pass the time you intended on going to bed in favour of watching yet another video. Before I know it, it's 1am and I finally tear myself away from the laptop screen to brush my teeth and go to bed. Sometimes, 10-20 minutes pass and I still can't sleep, so I tell myself that another hour on the internet won't hurt. It's a viscous cycle. I definitely love my sleep, so I generally have to have at least 8 hours sleep, and if I'm going to sleep at 2, well...let's just say I'm not getting up early.

Going To The Shops

This involves actually getting changed, fixing your hair and stepping out the door and out into the cold (if it's winter or just generally cold weather). It's hard enough as it is to get out of bed, but the thought of going outside can sometimes be too much for this lazy soul. It's not just going outside that can be the problem, but the fact that the shops are a 10 minute walk away and a 10 minute walk back, or even more. So much effort.

Going Out With Other People

Have you ever made plans and been really excited about them at the time, and then that time comes around and that plan is the last thing you want to do? You'd much rather stay in the comfort of your own home than interact with human beings. I do this a lot, and laziness is a big factor in this.

Cooking

Cooking properly (not using the microwave or even the oven sometimes) requires so much effort, especially if you actually want a filling meal that fills your belly. If going to the shops was hard, then cooking is even harder. It's not the best option, it's certainly not a healthy option but takeaways or microwaved food is so much easier and gets food in my stomach faster. Even if I made the effort to cook, the washing up can really take the energy out of you if you've got a lot of pots and plates in the sink. Sigh...

Tidying The Bedroom

The thing about having a messy bedroom is that even when you make the effort to tidy the bedroom (usually if someone's coming around or I'm just feeling productive) it still somehow ends up being a mess less than a week later. I don't know how it happened, it's a mystery but clothes is a large part of the blame. If my clothes aren't tangled up on or in my bed, then they're on my desk chair or floor. The struggles.

NPop Quote Of The Week! (01/11/15)

With a new month on the horizon brings a new quote of the week! You can read last week's quote of the week here --> http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/10/npop-quote-of-week-231015.html

When it comes to achievement and success, I believe I can be a little too hard on myself. Failure can deter some from trying, including myself and especially for those that may have anxiety or other issues that stop them from doing the things they may fear. At the end of the day, all we can do is try our best. Sometimes our best may not be enough, but the most important thing is that we tried. Without trying, we will never be able to achieve success, so always keep trying.

NPop Quote Of The Week! (23/10/15)

Check out last week's quote of the week here! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/10/npop-quote-of-week-161015.html

Fear is perhaps one of the worst things that we can have. As I have said before on a previous post, it can inhibit your life and stop you from taking up on certain opportunities. Fear is a product of our own mind and the worst case scenarios that we conjure up in our thoughts. While there can be a good reason for it, the actual thing we fear is often not as bad as we make it out to be in our heads. It can also be one of the hardest things to face but we have two choices. Run away from our fear and let it overpower us and our lives, or face that fear and overcome it. The more fears that we face in life, the more that we can achieve, so 'Face Everything And Rise'. Happy Friday!

1st World Problems - Taking Things for Granted

Have a read of the previous '1st World Problems' series here! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/10/1st-world-problems-procrastinating.html

In this day and age, with our basic needs fulfilled and the technology that surrounds us, it can be beyond easy to take things for granted. After all, most of us will have a roof over our heads, warmth when we desire it, food on the table, an education, a phone, a laptop and so on.

Often, I will not even notice how much I appreciate the thing I have until that thing has been taken away from me. Here are a short list of things I believe I have taken for granted.

Time

This is probably the thing I have most taken for granted. We only live one life. We are not able to go back in time and change the things we most regret, or relive certain moments. We are not able to go back in time and do the things we could only do when we were younger. However, I often slip into a pattern of wasting my days because it's easier than challenging myself. In the process I miss out on opportunities, I miss out on meeting new people, making new friends and further developing myself as a person. I value sleep so much that I can sometimes sleep way longer than I should and since the early bird catches the worm, I miss out on that worm every morning.

A Clean House

It's one of those things I hadn't even noticed until I moved out of the house for university. Suddenly there's no Mother who automatically cleans the house every week and after a while of either living on your own, or with other students you begin to notice the difference. Plates and pots pile up in the sink, crumbles of food make a home on the floor, spilt milk lays on the counter tops and the rubbish in the bins pile up faster than I could have ever anticipated. It makes me appreciate a clean house, which I didn't before.

Money

Having a debit card will be the death of me! Especially a debit card you can just tap on the card machine and pay without having to go through the hassle of typing in a pin number. However, it makes it harder to track the amount that you're spending a week which is desperately what I need. Living at home saved you a tonne of money, more than you can even imagine because food alone can take a huge chunk of your wages or loan. Then there's travel expenses which can add up after repeated use, essentials and privileges such as clothes and those expensive pair of headphones you've wanted for so long.

A Plug to Charge Your Phone

It sucks when you're on a train or at work, school, college, wherever, and you're phone battery is on dangerously low. In come the regrets about not charging my phone before I left and not bringing my plug in so I can find a plug socket to insert my plug in and charge my phone. I mean, not that anyone particularly important calls me or anything, but WHAT IF?

Internet

Since the days of dial up internet has passed us by (and an extremely, snail like slow connection), browsing the internet has been a breeze (on the majority of occasions, depending on the wifi or connection). I use the internet so much that it has become a routine of mine to check social media first thing in the morning and to browse through the internet throughout the day. So when the internet randomly shuts down due some sort of problem with the connection I feel lost. On the positive side, it kind of forces you to be productive. Time to finally clean the house!

NPop Quote Of The Week! (16/10/15)

You can read last week's Quote of the Week here! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/10/npop-quote-of-week-091015.html

The other day, my mind drifted to a memory that meant little to me at the time. However, when I thought back to it and the change that has happened in my life since then, I realised how much I had taken that memory for granted. Sometimes, I wish that I could go back in time and relieve certain moments that I didn't appreciate at the time but appreciate now. Even now, when certain things happen and that memory passes me by, I can look back fondly at the memory which I otherwise didn't appreciate at the time. That's why it's a wise thing to appreciate the little things, even if you think it doesn't mean much because it may mean a lot to you one day.

Highs and Lows: WAGS - Season 1 - Episode 8! The Finale!!

This is the final episode of Season 1 of WAGS and my final Highs and Lows of this Season! Season 2 has been confirmed, so I imagine I will be back writing the Highs and Lows of the next season when it comes back around. I have enjoyed watching this series and will be writing an overall review of the season so far, so keep an eye out for that!

Highs

Barbie, Natalie and Olivia are Getting On

In the earlier episodes of this season, the girls had their differences as both Olivia and Natalie had offended Barbie on multiple occasions. In the last couple of episodes the girls have been getting on, which I believe started during the girls' trip to Mexico. This week, we saw the girls bonding on a couple of occasions. Barbie even stuck up for Natalie when she was being grilled by Autumn about not wanting to commit to her boyfriend Shaun Philips.

Olivia Trying On Date Outfits for Nicole and Natalie

This threesome are a fun part of this show, with their youthful, fun persona's that mesh together well. Olivia had a bowling date with NFL player Marcedes Lewis and Olivia tried on a couple of outfits for the girls, who teased her about her outfit choices. It was a relatable moment for a lot of girls who may or may not have been in the same predicament of picking an outfit for a date.

Olivia Pearson's Bowling Date

Unlike her last date, this date actually turned up! The two had a lot of chemistry as they went bowling (in which Olivia bowled particularly badly) but it didn't seem to matter to Marcedes who was into Olivia and vice versa.

Sasha Gates Has Baby

During a gathering with the other WAGS, something appeared to be wrong with Sasha, which we later discovered was her water breaking. This led to her having a premature baby boy. Before giving birth, the idea of having a premature baby upset her, but her happiness of having her baby and discussing her joy with close friends Autumn and Ashley was heart warming to watch.

Lows

Autumn is critical of Natalie on Not Being Sure Whether or not to move in with her Boyfriend & accuses Natalie of having a fake relationship

Earlier on in the episode, Natalie told the other WAGS that she didn't know if she wanted to get married to her boyfriend and that she didn't really know much about Shaun and his career. Autumn was critical of this, claiming she knew everything about her husband and his career. She was also critical of the fact that Natalie wasn't ready to commit to her boyfriend even though they had been together for 3 years.  She even accused Natalie of having a fake relationship because of this, which is a little extreme.

Autumn comes across as someone who is closed to other people's personalities, values and views that are different from hers, at least when it comes to Olivia and Natalie who are her opposites. It is because of this that Natalie and Autumn have clashed on more than one occasion. Perhaps if she was a little more open minded the three would get along, but who knows?

1st World Problems - Procrastinating

One of my biggest problems that I struggle with on a daily basis is the fact that I am a procrastinator. It's my sin, my nemesis, my foe...you name it. I procrastinate without even realising I'm doing it, only being in my 2nd year of university it's something that I am going to have to work on. It will never completely go away. All I can do is try and keep my procrastination at a minimum.

The best ways of finding a cure is figuring out what causes me to procrastinate. Thinking about it, there are so many ways in which I do this that does nothing but waste my time.

I've compiled a list of the number of ways in which I procrastinate, preventing me from getting little to anything done at all.

Daydreaming

Definitely my biggest cause of procrastination. I can get lost in my mind for hours and before I know it I'm too tired to get anything done.

Browsing through Facebook/Twitter

By default I'm on Facebook or Twitter browsing through the feeds. I end up clicking on one article that interests me and then another, also playing one to many games of Bejewelled Blitz. 10-20 minutes of my time is regularly wasted on either social media each time I check in.

Listening to Music

This is another thing I could easily waste hours doing and it goes side by side with daydreaming. When I listen to music I often end up daydreaming about random stuff. I could easily spend a whole day doing this.

Watching Youtube Videos

Sometimes I watch a funny/entertaining video before getting down to doing actual work. The work before the play. However, it often doesn't pan out that way because by the time I decide to do work I'm just not in that frame of mind. Also, it's beyond easy to intend on watching one video, before 1 video becomes 7 and it's also weird how much you can stray from the original video you were watching.

Sleeping

Sometimes I am just too tired to do any work and if I'm at home, especially if I am in my bed then the easiest and most desirable option is to sleep. Sleep >>Work.

What are some of the other ways that you procrastinate? Let me know!! Follow if you enjoyed reading for more content :D

NPop Quote Of The Week! (09/10/15)

Read the previous NPop Quote Of The Week here! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/10/npop-thoughts-of-week-040915.html

We only live one life and the time we are given in this life is time that we will never get back. Therefore we need to be careful in the choices that we make, whether that is what career path we decide to take, or who we decide to spend our life with. It is important that in such circumstances we follow our hearts rather than our minds. One of the worst things is being unhappy or unsatisfied in life because of fear or uncertainty. Life is one for living, so live it.

Highs and Lows: WAGS - Season 1 - Episode 7!

Read the previous Highs and Lows of WAGS here! http://natalyaon.blogspot.com/2015/09/highs-and-lows-wags-season-1-episode-6.html

Highs

Barbie's Bachelorette Party

A large focus of this episode was spent on Barbie's Bachelorette party in Miami. She invited two of her best friends as well as some the WAGS, although Ashley, Autumn and Sasha couldn't make it for various reasons. This Bachelorette Party consisted of attending male strip club (in which Nicole wouldn't attend because her boyfriend Larry didn't approve), and a night club (which Nicole ended making out with fellow WAG cast member Olivia because of one too may shots). All in all it looked like a bunch of fun, as their girl trips always seem to be.

Autumn/Sasha's kids Photoshoot

Autumn didn't attend Barbie's Bachelorette Party in favour of a kids photoshoot she had to do for her baby clothing line along with Sasha and Ashley. They had their kids model the clothing and it was all sorts of cute as children are (or at least can be).

Lows

Olivia Pearson Gets Stood Up on Date with Shawn Merriman, then Gets Ignored By Him At The SB's.

Olivia had a date with football player Shawn Merriman who she met at Natalie Halcro's Instagram party, but Olivia ended up sitting at the bar alone as Shawn stood her up. Naturally Olivia was upset about this and furthermore, Shawn blanked her at a SB party Nicole invited her and Natalie to. Not cool.

Nicole Asks Larry's Permission to go to Male Stripclub

In a previous episode, Nicole had revealed to the girls that she can't decide anything for herself and likes to ask her boyfriend Larry's opinion on everything. This week, we discovered that Nicole likes to ask Larry's permission to do certain things. When Barbie brought up the plan to the girls of going to a male strip club, Nicole told Barbie that she wanted to ask Larry if that was okay. She felt like it would be disrespectful not to do so, although the likes of Barbie and Natalie found this outrageous. On one hand, I can understand Nicole's point of view. After all, it is a male strip club and a partner may be uncomfortable with the thought of their other half going to something like that, where there are half naked/almost fully naked men prancing about waving their privates about. Larry responded to Nicole through text, telling her that she 'absolutely could not' go to the strip club, so she stayed in the car while the other girls had fun inside. I think if she debated with Larry a bit, explaining the situation then he may have been more comfortable of the idea, but she was perhaps a little too submissive.

Olivia Feels Left Out as the Girls all FaceTime their boyfriends

Olivia got a little upset after the girls (Natalie, Nicole and Barbie) took turns in Facetiming their other halves and talking about their partners. As Olivia was the only single lady around the table, she felt a little isolated as she dislikes being single and wants a man in her life. I feel for her.
