Miscellaneous! 21 + 22 Jump Street - How have I not watched this before?

When it comes to films I can a bit left in the dark as to what's hot and not, but after the viral spread of clips from Channing Tatum's line "My Name's Jeff," in '22 Jump Street', it was enough to convince me to give the first film a watch.

To explain, the first I had properly heard from the Jump Street series was when Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill made their appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show' some time ago to promote their film 22 Jump Street (I know, I told you I can be a bit behind!) I remember watching a clip presented on the show near the beginning of the film, which included that all famous one liner. I cracked me up when I first heard it along with Graham Norton's audience. Fast forward to six months later, and that one comical line from the film rears its head once again, integrated into TV, film and home made clips. Watching these short clips fuelled my desire to watch the film as love a good comedy and needed a good laugh. However I hadn't even watched the first film, so on Christmas Day I decided to watch 21 Jump Street for the first time. Online. If I didn't like it within a certain period of time, then I would simply stop the film, close the tab and move on to something else but I wasn't disappointed.

Long story short, I was thoroughly entertained all the way through the film which really says something. I am someone who often gets bored whilst watching a film half way or three quarters of the way through (since I have the attention span of a fish), switching off before I even get to the ending, but with 21 Jump Street this wasn't the case. And naturally after watching the first film I just had to watch the second. I was skeptical at first. I mean after all, many sequels fail to capture that magic the first film had and all of the little elements that made the first film so special but again, I was thoroughly entertained! I can now safely say that 21 and 22 Jump Street are among some of my favourite films, joining the line of 'Jurassic Park' (a childhood favourite of mine!) 'The Hangover' and 'Resident Evil', to name a few.

Celeb Goss! Jessie J reveals that Miley Cyrus' 'Party In The USA' paid her bills

One thing that I admittedly didn't know about Jessie J until recently, was the fact that as well as being the powerful singer and talented artist that she is, she has also written songs for other artists, Miley Cyrus being one of them.

Miley Cyrus' 'Party In The USA' is perhaps one of my favourite songs from the singer. It's lighthearted, catchy pop that easily brings a smile to my face and has me thinking about the summer time, naturally. So, it was to my surprise to hear that Jessie J had co-written the song for the Cyrus which was released in 2009 and turned out to be a big hit for the star, a top ten hit in several countries, even reaching no.2 in the Billboard Hot 100.

In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Jessie J said, "You've got to write songs, that's where the money is, being an artist. 'Party In The USA' paid my rent for, like, three years."

The 26 year old went on to say, "Actually it was way longer than that. That's where I get most of my money. I write songs. I'm a singer. I love endorsements and stuff, but that's all added on."

So if you were anything like me and didn't know about Jessie J's other talent, then let that be your interesting fact of the day!

NPop is Online!

Hello and welcome to my new blog, Npop Online! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Natalya and this is a new little blog I've created which will be centred around pop culture and celebrity news and gossip! I previously had a radio show called NPop which broadcasted on an online radio station called ioradio, where I played commercial music and discussed the latest happenings in the celeb world. Unfortunately, my radio show had to come to an end when I moved to West London to study Music Technology and Radio Broadcasting this September, but I have decided to take this thing online and instead of talk about it, write about it!

So let me tell you a thing or two about myself, shall I? I am a 23 year old, currently in my first year at university studying Music Technology and Radio Broadcasting. Before this I was working for a year, and even further before this I was at college studying Media for a total of three years.

Some of my likes? Hmm, let's see. I like redbull (it's an unhealthy obsession, I know) standup comedy and just comedy in general, funny people, sarcasm (it's awesome), puns, the funnies (enough with that) video games (can't afford to buy the current gen consoles so I settle for watching them), Japan (it's fascinating), celeb goss (the reason for this blog obvs) reading, writing, procrastination, sleeping, thinking, weirdness and more!

Well, now that that's out the way I hope I've given you a little more insight into myself and I further hope that you'll stick with me as I get this thing started!
