Eastenders Big Reveal! Who Killed Lucy? Part 2

EASTENDERS RECAP! CONTINUED!

So this brings us to the flashback leading up to Lucy's death. I can only really describe this as uneventful up until around the last forty seconds of the episode. To sum it up, it basically just revealed each suspect that came into contact with Lucy at some point before her death, with instances during the whole storyline that were cleared up, such as why Max had blood on his shoe. The whole time I was watching I was anticipating the way in which Jane would kill Lucy as I just couldn't imagine her doing such a thing. There was something off about it all, although I couldn't exactly tell what but it seemed to drag on too long for a half an hour episode.

Skipping to the last part of the flashback, Jane got a phone call before she left Masood's (her boyfriend at the time) and made haste to Ian's house where she found Lucy on the floor. This had me confused as anything since I thought Jane was the killer. Then that moment came we had all been waiting for when Jane turned around and gasped, clearly face to face with the killer who was off screen. In came the voice of Lucy's HALF BROTHER BOBBY BEALE! "Whatever she says, she started it, she made everyone unhappy," was the exact quote from little Bobby before the episode ended and to say I was shocked was an understatement.

The way they executed this reveal was genius, from Jane's gasp and shocked face, to Bobby's voice that was first heard offscreen before they showed him on camera holding the jewellery box he had killed her with. Then the close up on his face before he delivered his final line. Up until that point I had been disappointed by the whole reveal, but at that moment I was genuinely surprised and in awe of Eastenders execution. It was just the fact that Bobby had been in the background this whole time as quiet as a mouse. I would've never have imagined him killing his own sister. That was something way beyond unexpected. Months before this moment I had seen tweets from people, joking that Bobby was the killer, but it is something I had always laughed off because it's well....Bobby! I am glad to have watched it live, seeing as reading of Lucy Beale's killer would have definitely had less of an impact. Kudos to Eastenders.

Now on to Friday's episode which was the only fully live episode and in my view the best episode of Eastenders Live Week. Ian wanted an explanation from Jane about what happened the night that Lucy died, and at first Jane tried to take the blame until Ian sussed that his own son was the culprit. What I loved about this episode is that it was very heartfelt and personal because it's Ian's son. If it had been anyone else such as Ben Mitchell, there would have been only anger and it would have lacked the personal element that this episode was filled with. Ian was conflicted due to his son killing his own daughter and the fact that Jane took it in her own hands to dump her body in the woods.

Jane had told Ian that Bobby didn't know he had killed his own sister as she had convinced him that someone else did. Ian planned to confront his son about it, until he sat with him and witnessed the little innocence of the boy and decided that he would never know about what he had done. Cindy Beale was on board. However, Peter was not happy about this and stormed off. Ian forgave Jane which was very sweet and Cindy read out an emotional letter written by Lucy Beale before she died that Bobby had kept from them all. This left Ian in tears and admittedly had me all teary eyed, then Bobby, Jane, Ian and Cindy had a very heartfelt hug which tugged a little at my heart strings.

Every actor performed brilliantly in this live episode and I was particularly impressed with Adam Woodyatt and Laurie Brett who play Ian and Jane. I was even impressed with Ben Hardy who I have sometimes been a little hard on in regards to his acting, but he really delivered when it came to portraying his anger over Ian agreeing that Bobby should never find out about his actions. One only wonders now what Bobby will be like when he's a teenager. Will he stay young and innocent or will he become the new Ben Mitchell. Only time will tell.

Welp, that's Eastenders Live all done with. Thanks for reading!

Eastenders Big Reveal! Who Killed Lucy? Part 1

NPop Online is back! There has just been too much that I have wanted to write about and haven't gotten around to doing because of other priorities (uni work, sigh). From the Amber Rose and Khloe Kardashian twitter dispute to Eastenders Live Week, it's all been going on! So let's get to it!

To recap, this week has been Eastenders Live Week (or part live, shall I say) with the build up which led to the reveal on Lucy's killer this past Thursday. Ten whole months of storyline, all built up to this very moment when we finally...FINALLY discovered Lucy Beale's killer.

I have to admit, I was anticipating this moment. I thought I didn't care much for finding out Lucy's killer since the story dragged on for too long on a character who I thought was irrelevant, annoying and unnecessarily overdramatic. However, as the days passed I found myself eager to know the culprit behind this whodunnit and just how Lucy died in the first place.

Clearly I wasn't the only one keen on finding out, since #EELive, Eastenders and other related hashtags have been consistently trending in the United Kingdom since last week from fans and I highly suspect non fans of the soap. Even I, who has not watched the soap in quite a while had my eyes glued to my screen in anticipation.

EASTENDERS LIVE RECAP!

So, Lauren was acting on edge because she believed she knew who had killed Lucy. This led to her break up from Peter Beale (which had me thinking that he was the killer for a while). Stacey informed Max that Lauren believed she knew who killed Lucy which ultimately led to a confrontation with Max's daughter Abby, over whether or not she killed Lucy. Before Eastenders Live even began I thought it was Abby who killed Lucy so from this early confrontation it was clear that it most probably wouldn't be her.
In this live confrontation, there was a confusion amongst viewers, expressed on twitter over whether or not Max Branning said 'who' or 'you' in his final line before the closing of the first episode, 'She knows you killed Lucy'. Since this was the very first live episode and the killer wasn't meant to be revealed until Thursday, many thought that the actor had fluffed up his lines. However, the actor himself confirmed what was meant to be said.

This brings us to the return of Tanya Branning (Peggy Mitchell returned too btw) otherwise known as Jo Joyner and probably the funniest moment of Eastenders Live. In her first live scene of the week with her pal Jane Beale, she made a minor error, asking Jane how Adam was instead of Ian, the character's real name. Whoops.

Jo Joyner's response?

Adam Woodyatt's response?

Jake Wood's response?

Total bants, love it.

Okay, so early on in the Eastenders Live episodes, Lauren Branning sent a card over to Jane's, with a message that she knew that Lucy was killed at home. Jane got a hold of this card which sent her into a little bit of an emotional wreck. Lauren was confronted by Peter Beale at an abortion clinic after finding out she was pregnant, where Peter was adamant in knowing why she broke up with him and what she was hiding. Jane and Ian married, but not before the uncertainty of whether or not Jane and Ian would actually marry, seeing as doubt was written all over Jane's face whilst they exchanged vowels. This naturally led me in to believing that Ian was the one that killed Lucy (Eastenders clearly playing mind games with me). Ultimately, Peter ended up confronting Ian and Jane at their house and made an accusation about one of them being the killer since Lauren had told him that Lucy was killed in their house (I'm skipping past a lot of things here I know).

Anyway, skimming all the way through to the ending of the last episode before the flashback because this is already getting too long, it seemed that Jane was revealed as Lucy's killer which right off the bat didn't seem right to me. Jane? Killing a girl who she pretty much raised as her own? Not only that, but she's definitely not the type of person to kill someone and then hide it from everyone, allowing the people around her to take the blame.

The Pricey Won Celebrity Big Brother 2015!!

Unfortunately as I don't have a TV at my halls of residence (cba to pay for TV license, saving money, blah de blah) I wasn't able to watch the Celebrity Big Brother Final but fortunately I was able to keep track of who left, who was in the final and who won via Twitter.

I personally wanted Callum to win, so was disappointed to see him come third. I think I came to admire him for standing up to Perez a couple times and defending Keith Chegwin when Katie Hopkins was having another little go at him. He was the voice of reason and common sense amongst all the drama and genuinely likeable. However when it came down to the two Katie's I was praying that Hopkins didn't win.

Katie Price may have been seen as boring to some viewers, but I much preferred her winning than the honest but annoyingly rude Katie Hopkins. Similar to Callum, Price was being true to herself in the house as well as nice and respectful to everyone in the house. She may have been a little too frank regarding her exes (nobody wants to hear about what or how much she could stick up Alex's behind) but she was genuine nevertheless. She also wasn't afraid to stand up for herself when need be, standing up to Katie Hopkins when she branded Price 'boring' and not worth the money she was paid to enter the house.

Much congrats to Katie Price!

Kim Kardashian - My Views!

So, as Kim Kardashian faces more controversy following nude leaked photos from her photoshoot for some magazine called LOVE Magazine, I feel like this is my time to perhaps express my thoughts of the reality star/model/socialite/selfie queen/Mother. Why? Because everyone (or at least, most people) have some sort of opinion of her as do I.

Do I like her? It's weird because I like and dislike her at the same time. Kim Kardashian is no doubt an attractive person and she knows it. She knows what her assets are and how to flaunt them in the best light. She has mastered her angles in pictures and posing for the camera because every picture she takes is perfection.
Not going to lie, I envy her in this sense. The woman never has a hair out of place and for the most part the outfits she wears looks divine on her. She is often criticised for her vainness and constant need to take pouty selfies of herself but it's clearly working for her. This is her brand so it's something that is easy for me to accept but one of the qualities that I perhaps dislike her for.

This selfie obsessed culture within itself is something I believe has been highly influenced by the Kardashians. Now I don't have a problem with selfies! Nothing wrong with a selfie I say but this culture we seemed to have moved into, where women in particular strive for this perfection is getting out of hand to the point that women feel they have to look a certain way to be seen as beautiful. If it's not a big butt, then it's big boobs or long hair, very tanned skin or big lips and Kim Kardashian is quite possibly one of the big influences in this.

Now on to the positive. The part of me that likes Kim Kardashian is the part that respects her work ethic. It's a controversial topic, since many question what Kim Kardashian actually does and dismiss her as being just a reality star. I can see their point, since it can be difficult to put her into a category since the work she does is varied. I mean, with Leonardo Di Caprio or Orlando Bloom you could easily put them into the category of actors, or with Usher or Katy Perry as singers but with Kim it's difficult to pin point what she does after being a reality star.

However, she does a good job of upkeeping her brand and image and she always seems to have something going on. She is not simply a trophy wife to her husband which is probably the thing I like the most about her. There's nothing more I dislike than trophy girlfriends or wives that rely on their man's riches to get by but she clearly has her own money and I can get behind her on that.

Anyway, good or bad she is often a talking point one way or another and that's where she thrives. Even I am talking about her in this blog, so she must be doing something right!

Jurassic World Super Bowl Trailer!

As a big Jurassic Park fan, I was excited to hear and see of this new trailer for Jurassic World to be released in June of this year, which was shown just before the Super Bowl yesterday.

Jurassic Park is perhaps my favourite film of all time and I think it's just because of the two memorable scenes that had me at the edge of my seat back when I watched it as a child. I can't remember exactly how old I was, but I was at that age where everything I watched all seemed real to me.

My favourite scene from Jurassic Park is easily the scene where the T-Rex escapes and the two poor children are left alone in the car as the T-Rex roams free. Even watching it now, I am still impressed and in awe of that moment when the T-Rex bursts its jaws through the roof's window. Even more impressive is the built up suspense that led up to that moment.

The infamous kitchen scene would have to be my second favourite scene for obvious reasons so I won't get into that, but they are two scenes I will always remember.

I am also a fan of The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, so here's hoping Jurassic World lives up to expectations. The trailer still doesn't give a lot away and is very similar to the trailer they released a few months ago, but it definitely has me excited for the film's release.

Trailer below!
