EASTENDERS RECAP! CONTINUED!

So this brings us to the flashback leading up to Lucy's death. I can only really describe this as uneventful up until around the last forty seconds of the episode. To sum it up, it basically just revealed each suspect that came into contact with Lucy at some point before her death, with instances during the whole storyline that were cleared up, such as why Max had blood on his shoe. The whole time I was watching I was anticipating the way in which Jane would kill Lucy as I just couldn't imagine her doing such a thing. There was something off about it all, although I couldn't exactly tell what but it seemed to drag on too long for a half an hour episode.

Skipping to the last part of the flashback, Jane got a phone call before she left Masood's (her boyfriend at the time) and made haste to Ian's house where she found Lucy on the floor. This had me confused as anything since I thought Jane was the killer. Then that moment came we had all been waiting for when Jane turned around and gasped, clearly face to face with the killer who was off screen. In came the voice of Lucy's HALF BROTHER BOBBY BEALE! "Whatever she says, she started it, she made everyone unhappy," was the exact quote from little Bobby before the episode ended and to say I was shocked was an understatement.

The way they executed this reveal was genius, from Jane's gasp and shocked face, to Bobby's voice that was first heard offscreen before they showed him on camera holding the jewellery box he had killed her with. Then the close up on his face before he delivered his final line. Up until that point I had been disappointed by the whole reveal, but at that moment I was genuinely surprised and in awe of Eastenders execution. It was just the fact that Bobby had been in the background this whole time as quiet as a mouse. I would've never have imagined him killing his own sister. That was something way beyond unexpected. Months before this moment I had seen tweets from people, joking that Bobby was the killer, but it is something I had always laughed off because it's well....Bobby! I am glad to have watched it live, seeing as reading of Lucy Beale's killer would have definitely had less of an impact. Kudos to Eastenders.

Now on to Friday's episode which was the only fully live episode and in my view the best episode of Eastenders Live Week. Ian wanted an explanation from Jane about what happened the night that Lucy died, and at first Jane tried to take the blame until Ian sussed that his own son was the culprit. What I loved about this episode is that it was very heartfelt and personal because it's Ian's son. If it had been anyone else such as Ben Mitchell, there would have been only anger and it would have lacked the personal element that this episode was filled with. Ian was conflicted due to his son killing his own daughter and the fact that Jane took it in her own hands to dump her body in the woods.

Jane had told Ian that Bobby didn't know he had killed his own sister as she had convinced him that someone else did. Ian planned to confront his son about it, until he sat with him and witnessed the little innocence of the boy and decided that he would never know about what he had done. Cindy Beale was on board. However, Peter was not happy about this and stormed off. Ian forgave Jane which was very sweet and Cindy read out an emotional letter written by Lucy Beale before she died that Bobby had kept from them all. This left Ian in tears and admittedly had me all teary eyed, then Bobby, Jane, Ian and Cindy had a very heartfelt hug which tugged a little at my heart strings.

Every actor performed brilliantly in this live episode and I was particularly impressed with Adam Woodyatt and Laurie Brett who play Ian and Jane. I was even impressed with Ben Hardy who I have sometimes been a little hard on in regards to his acting, but he really delivered when it came to portraying his anger over Ian agreeing that Bobby should never find out about his actions. One only wonders now what Bobby will be like when he's a teenager. Will he stay young and innocent or will he become the new Ben Mitchell. Only time will tell.

Welp, that's Eastenders Live all done with. Thanks for reading!
